How does ETIAS differ for European countries and Schengen Area countries?
European countries refer to all the countries located on the European continent, which includes both EU (European Union) member states and non-EU countries. On the other hand, the Schengen Area is a specific zone within Europe that comprises certain countries that have agreed to eliminate passport control at their mutual borders, allowing for the free and unrestricted movement of people within this area.
For the ETIAS, the requirement is for travelers from both EU member states and non-EU member states that are part of the Schengen Area or planning to join it. Essentially, if you are traveling to a Schengen Area country, regardless of whether it is an EU member or not, you may need to obtain ETIAS authorization, depending on your nationality and visa status.
